Welcome to my 6th year working with Florida Gators Women's Basketball and the Gators marketing team creating fun and unique lifestyle athlete portraits for their marketing and recruiting efforts.
This is the second year the Gators "media day experience" they call WBK Live or #WBKLive22. This was an all-day event with studio portraits and on-court video production. I was fortunate to be a part of the photo team and this year shot on blue and black backgrounds.

This was a two-day setup due to logistics with the weekend. I setup my two shooting locations the day before (blue and black backdrop stations).
I used Profoto B1X and D2 strobes (8 total) with Westcott RapidBox modifiers (3ft Octa, 2x3, 1x4, and 3x4).
My assistant, Jesse Gann, helped load images onto my Macbook Pro 16 M1 Max laptop every few athletes so they could see their shots.
For the court, the screen was lowered for video and for the team photo with professional lighting and grip.
The Gators were once again styled by former Gator athlete, Nita Bartley of Nita Styles. This year they went all black and brought the fire to the blue background.
The Gators next outfit was their home white uniforms. These definitely bounced with the blue background.
I wanted to add a little more flare to the shoot. I wanted to shoot on black using a two-light setup wide open (f/1.4) with gelled light. This gave the players some unique photos to use this season.
The full coaching staff even joined in on the casual and game wear on blue and black backgrounds.
Another fun shoot in the books!
It's truly been an honor working with the Florida Gators Women's Basketball team especially Coach Kelly Finley and her team. I've created a ton of great unique content for their social and recruiting efforts over these last sixseasons. Looking forward to next year!
