February 2023: I helped the Franklin Sports team debut their new product line for an emerging sport called Padel. It's a sport that is similar to tennis and racquetball but with even more fun.
For this photo shoot, I shot both in studio and on location. It involved creating individual product photos with models and product in action on location with Padel athletes. This content is expected show up on the Franklin Sports website, Amazon storefront, and social media.
I was part of a content creation team that involved handheld video and drone action.
We shot in beautiful Zephyrhills, Florida in the morning at brand new padel courts just installed at the Sarah Vande Berg Tennis Center.
The Franklin Sports Creative Team was on site for both the studio and location shoots. It's always a fun time working with their team along with the other content creators.
Using my studio, we shot on Savage seamless pure white paper using Profoto monolights with Westcott modifiers. I found some great models for Franklin Sports to use to debut the paddles and ball equipment.
Shoutout to Mickey Howard from the Franklin Sports Creative Team who helped direct the studio shoot.
Product laydowns photography is important for Franklin Sports and many of my other clients. Models and athletes always enhance but there is power with standalone products in their normal location or place of use.
The early morning light was so beautiful for these product laydowns.
The shoot came alive when we started to use the Padel athletes. Each had great personality and brought unique aspects for highlighting the products.
I shot both with flash and with natural available light.
Drew Gundlach from Franklin Sports Creative Team practiced the angle and shot before we shot with the athlete. Great form!
It takes a village literally to produce so much content in a very finite amount of time. Super helpful to have Drew and Mickey on location directing and guiding the shoot.
The Franklin Sports upped the production by adding in Drone video. Dylan was great to work with and created some stunning never-before-seen footage.
Here's video featuring the drone work from Dylan. So cool!
It's Franklin, or nothing!
A huge shoutout to the Franklin Sports Creative Team including Drew Gundlach for the trust to create content on-site and in-studio. I can't wait to see how the images are used.
Thank you for such a great shoot. Looking forward to the next.
