We're back for the third time with one of our favorite clients, Danielle Gertner of Gertner Grind fame. This time we took a trip to Duval County to shoot on Jacksonville Beach. As you'll see below, we shot in multiple outfits in freezing cold temps and brought along our talented photo assistant and behind-the-scenes (BTS) photographer, Matt Goldman to capture our process.

Here's some of the gear we used for this shoot:
To capture the sunrise, you must wake up and be ready to shoot at least 40 minutes before the scheduled sunrise time. This meant a super-early departure from Gainesville at 4:30am. Unfortunately, that also means the sun hasn't had a chance to warm up the ocean and the sand. It was a chilly 43 degrees to start our shoot.
Despite the 43 degree weather and freezing waters, we took advantage of the beautiful, cloudless sunrise. Danielle brought the heat in an amazing green two-piece bikini. We only get about 20-25 minutes of really beautiful light right as the sun rises above the horizon so we took full advantage and worked quickly.
Danielle is a Certified Kettlebell Specialist and one of the few in North Florida. It was only natural our kettlebell friend would make an appearance. We had some fun with the sun too!
Part of our plan for Jacksonville Beach was to take full advantage of the beautifully restored Fishing Pier and the glass-like ocean.
Our friend, the Kettlebell, returned and we had a quick outfit change to finish up our work in the Atlantic Ocean. We then moved to more kettlebell exercises on the beach, with the ocean as a backdrop.
Gert had a great idea to go through one of her kettlebell workouts on the beach. While it may have looked warm, it was still very cold as we were both soaked from the ocean portion of our shoot. We spent a few moments walking through the shoot and then went to work.
We left the beach to warmer clothing and less sand. We took a few shots on the bridge to the beach before heading to a parking lot and street nearby in Downtown Jacksonville Beach.
A quick location change featuring a parking lot, barricade, and the Gertner Grind "The World is Your Gym" workout gear.
This outfit was quick just to capture a few lifestyle shots.
This outfit featured a shirt change with the words "Because Goals." This was something special for Gert and really fit her personality. We continued to stay near the barricade.
Our seventh (amazing!) and final outfit of the shoot is a simple and standard fitness outfit. We wanted to switch to a more lifestyle like shoot with lots of smiling and just Gert doing Gertner Grind things. #TheWorldIsYourGym
A big thank you to Danielle and the Gertner Grind for trusting in us to produce quality, unique photos for her growing fitness and motivation business.
