Fitness with Ann-Marie Muscarello

Introducing Ann-Marie

I am super excited to bring you my latest fitness work with Ann-Marie Muscarello. Ann-Marie is a former student-dancer from the University of Florida. She moved back to Houston to finish up nursing school. Known at the time as The Fitness Foxx on Instagram, she is now motivating others through her fitness journey.

I was in Houston, TX attending Audra Oden Photography's first-ever fitness workshop and met up with Ann-Marie to sneak in a photo shoot. Using the amazing energy from that workshop, we created some fun images.

Camera Gear: Canon 1D-X, Canon 70-200mm f2.8L II, Canon 85mm f1.4L, Lexar 32GB Memory Cards, Spider Holster SpiderPro Dual Holster system, and Tiffen UV and ND filters
Lighting: AlienBees B800 strobe and PocketWizard Plus X radio wireless triggers
Locations: Downtown Houston, Texas

Buffalo Bayou Park

For our first location, we met up at Buffalo Bayou Park which is situation just far enough away from the skyline of Houston, TX. It was midday so having the AlienBees B800 strobe really helped control harsh shadows.

Ann-Marie added a little hometown flair with her Houston Astros outfit.

We moved across the park to a beautiful bridge to get fuller shadows and allow for softer light. Some of best lit photos came from this area.

Graffiti Park

We moved over to a more colorful location. The Graffiti Park location reminded us a lot of Miami's Wynwood Walls location with all the painted walls. The sun was still very high in the sky but we made use of many great walls and shadows.

Ann-Marie threw on black leggings and sports bra for the classic all-black look.

We kept it real simple and some of our favorite shots from this location were at the black stairs. We used our Canon 85mm f1.4L IS with a Tiffen ND filter and opened up to f2.0 to get some great shots.

Stude Park

We finished up our fitness shoot at Stude Park. It had a beautiful secluded wooden bridge. The clouds finally found us and gave us really soft even light. These were all shot using natural light.

A huge shout-out to Ann-Marie for being such an awesome first-time model. It was extremely hot but she was totally professional the whole time. She had a great attitude and killed this shoot.
