Meet Sony!

Sony Orelus is a fitness trainer and athlete from Jacksonville, FL. He traveled from Duval County to our studio in Gainesville, Florida for a fitness session. Sony was looking for images to help promote his personal training business and improve content for his social media accounts.

As mentioned previously, we've switched to the Profoto lighting system. We tested the B1X's in Miami but for this shoot, we were able to use our full suite of Profoto gear including the OCF color gels. We also used our newest fitness trick, Ors Olive Oil Sheen Spray (something we learned from Audra Oden).

Look #1

For the first look, we kept it simple. We started by oiling up Sony and allowing him to get a pump going. The first few shots have the first layer of spray oil with the latter featuring a second coat. You can definitely see the difference!

Introducing the Color Gels

For these next shots, we switched to using the Profoto OCF Color Gels. This attachment for the monolights is super simple to use. You select the color gel, insert it into the holder, then place the gel and holder on the monolight as if it were a cap.

The color definitely added a new dimension to the photos as we gently lit Sony's right side with a teal-like color. This was in homage to his hometown NFL team, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Purple Gel

We switched to a more subtle purple-themed gel. We can definitely see why our good friend, Audra Oden, uses gels a ton!

New Outfit

Sony switched into another outfit and the teal-colored shorts really complimented the purple gel.

One More Outfit Change

Sony had one more outfit change in the bag and we kept the purple gel. After one last oil spray, we finished out the shoot with some strong images.

This was Sony's first photo shoot and fitness shoots are very demanding. We're very fortunate to work with such a great person, athlete, and model! He rocked his fitness shoot and also got in a good workout too! We're already looking forward to our next shoot.
