Season in Review

Lacrosse is one of my favorite sports. I'm fortunate to have one of the premier college teams right in town, attracting equally premier competition. This season I was able to shoot for Florida Gators Athletics, Vanderbilt Athletics, and The Gainesville Sun.

NOTE: The world is recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. Access for photographers was greatly affected during the regular season and tournaments. I was still able to find some great locations even shooting from the stands.

Gators vs. Bearcats - Game 1

Welcome Home!

The Florida Gators started their first 7 games of the season on the road. 2 of those games were cancelled due to COVID-19 protocols. On March, 26, 2021, the Gators returned home and played their first game since March 10, 2020.

Due to the pandemic, teams would play each other twice each weekend to reduce travel.

Gators vs. Bearcats - Game 2

This is a really special pre-game ritual by seniors Shannon Kavanagh, Bri Harris, and Kaitlyn Dabkowski.

Gators vs. Pirates - Game 1

The Pirates came to town for a two-game weekend. Beautiful weather and great light highlighted some great action.

I was able to shoot this game for the Florida Gators. This allowed me team photographer access. I still had to maintain social distancing but it was nice to be back on the field.

Gators vs. Dores - Game 1

Gators vs. Dores - Game 2

This game was for the American Athletic Conference (AAC) regular season champion trophy.

The Gators clinched the Regular Season champion trophy.

The Gators also celebrated their Senior Day after the win.

Gators vs. Flames

The Gators ended the regular season against the Liberty University Flames in a mid-week mid-day matchup.

Gators vs. Bearcats - AAC Tournament

The AAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament kicked off in Gainesville, Florida.

Dores vs. Owls - AAC Tournament

I was fortunate to work with Vanderbilt Athletics to cover the Dores during the second game of the AAC Women's Lacrosse tournament.

Gators vs. Owls

The Gators played the Owls for the AAC Tournament championship. The Gators won 19-4.

Gators vs. Bears - NCAA Tournament

The NCAA Tournament kicked off with the Gators hosting the first two rounds in Gainesville, Florida at Donald Dizney Stadium.

The Gators played the Mercer Bears in the first game.

Dores vs. Dolphins - NCAA Tournament

Gators vs. Dolphins - NCAA Tournament

The Gators played their last game at home for the season against the Dolphins. The Dolphins upset the Gators earlier in the season and the Gators set the tone for this game at the start.

That's a Wrap!

A full college lacrosse season in the books. I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am for the ability to cover an entire lacrosse season. As the pandemic winds down, I am looking forward to next season.
